New space at Sinai preps patients for real-life situations

Phyllis Deming had a fall several weeks ago, causing serious medical problems that left her bedridden until about two weeks ago.

However, she’s looking forward to living in her own home and she’s feeling well prepared—in fact, she’s already navigated her way around grocery store aisles, gotten up and down stairs, and maneuvered her way in and out of a restaurant booth.

And she didn’t even have to leave the hospital.
