Ravine, Philips roads to have new traffic flow

“The issue of Ravine and Philips roads has been a sore spot in town for all the time I can remember,” said Selectman Robert Sweeney. “I think it’s time for the town to do some action.” t the public hearing last Tuesday evening, the selectmen did just that when they voted to erect two do-not-enter signs on each street. And Ravine and Philips road residents couldn’t be happier.

    Reading junior Ryan Pollock rushed for 193 yards and a touchdown, leading the visiting Rockets to a 28-0 victory at Stoneham on Thanksgiving Day. The teams entered and exited the game at opposite ends of the spectrum. Reading, the 2008 Middlesex League champion, completed an undefeated season with the win, finishing 11-0 overall and 8-0 in the league. Stoneham, losing its last 10 games, finished 1-10 overall and 0-9 in the league.

  • It’s a wonderfully digital life

    The Stoneham Theatre goes home for the holidays with a new photography exhibit and show. "The Pleasures of Modern Living,” a collection of digital collages, will occupy the Atelier Gallery, operated via proxy by Winchester’s Griffin Museum, starting Nov. 26. Nadine Boughton, of Medford, is the exhibit’s artist. For content, she puts an unusual spin on scenes from mid-20th century domestic life.
