Croquet, anyone? Tournament brings neighborhood together

"The Throwbacks" emerged victorious, but there were no shortage of winners at Tucker’s Tourney this past Sunday at Gatchell’s Park.

Marblehead's Tim Angle, who lost an arm  to bacterial meningitis as a college freshman in 1996, is set to compete in the Paralympic Sonar class on Sept. 8, describing the event as “the chance of a lifetime.” 

The plans are far from final, but bronze medalist Shalane Flanagan is expected to be in Marblehead Saturday, Sept. 27 for a celebration of her Olympic efforts.

Patti McCullough, Michele Weed, Katie Machado and Annalisa Reno — veterans of Coffin and Gerry school classrooms with a combined 25 years of experience — have new loves in their life: babies, ranging in age from six to 18 months. But, not wanting to neglect their first love, teaching, the quartet has launched a new business, Marblehead Little Scholars.
