Littleton -
Last season, the Littleton High softball team went 13-6 as it fell to Upton in the opening round of the Division 3 Central tournament.
The Tigers lost six members from that team to graduation, but 10th-year head coach Fred Fitzpatrick does have six starters back.
The three senior captains this spring are Emily Abruzzese (pitcher), Emily Drahzal (catcher) and Bethany Bush (center field). Abruzzese went 6-2 on the mound last season.
Meghan O’Neil (shortstop), Ashley Devlamick (third base) and Brittany Partridge (right field) are the three other veterans back and all three are juniors.
O’Neil led the team in batting average and runs batted in last year.
Rose Kempton, a junior first baseman, leads a group of players who played for the Tigers junior varsity team last year.
The Tigers, who finished tied in second place in the Mid-Wach D last season, will visit Bromfield on Friday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. They will then take the school vacation week off and return to action on April 23, as they host Ayer, also at 3:30.
According to Fitzpatrick, the top teams in the league this year will be Tahanto and West Boylston.
