Kristofer R. Ciraso

FORT HOOD, TEXAS — Army Staff Sgt. Kristofer R. Ciraso, 26, of Bangor, Maine was killed Dec. 7, 2006 in Iraq. Ciraso was on his second tour, 13th combat mission when he was killed by a roadside bomb. Ciraso served as a Bradley Combat Commander based out of Fort Hood, Texas.

Ciraso attended Bangor High School and was a member of the Junior ROTC program.

His awards include the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal with Valor Device, Army Commendation Medal Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officers Professional Development Ribbon with Numeral 2 Device, Army Service Ribbon and the Overseas Service Ribbon.

Ciraso leaves his father, Paul M. Ciraso formerly of Lincoln; his grandfather, John Ciraso of Lincoln; and his two aunts, Jennie Ciraso of Lincoln and Mary MacDonald of Maynard.
