Monovoukas takes third place

With 24 qualified swimmers competing at the meet, the Bluefish Swim Club, once again, ranked first overall with an aggregate score of 991.50 points at the 2007 Speedo Champions SeriesL Eastern Zone Northern Secional meet held earlier this month at Harvard University.
This meet consisted of 811 of the top swimmers from 116 teams throughout the U.S. Eastern zone.
Swimming for the Bluefish Swim Club, 16-year-old Mike Monovoukas of Lexington ranked third place overall for the men with 64 points at the meet. He earned 2nd place in the Male 100-yard freestyle with a swim time of 46:37, 4th place in the 200-yard freestyle (1:41:00), 5th place in the 200-yard fly (1:51:41), 7th place in the 100-yard fly (50:34), and 11th place in the 50-yard freestyle (21:59). Mike was also key member of 5 Bluefish Male relay teams, which ranked 1st place in the 800-yard freestyle relay (6:49:33), 400-yard freestyle relay (3:05:99), 200-yard freestyle relay (1:25:01), and 400-yard medley relay (3:24:53); and 2nd place in the 200-yard medley relay (1:32:97).
At this meet, Monovoukas made the 2007 Spring Championships (Nationals) cuts in the following Mens 18 and under relays: 800-yard freestyle, 400-yard freestyle, and 400-yard medley relays.
The 2007 Spring Championship meet takes place March 27-31 in East Meadow, New York.
