Frederick Warren Clark, 83, of Hingham, died Aug. 9, 2008, at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth.

During her 60 years in Hingham, she was also active in the Hingham League of Women Voters, the Hingham Cemetery Committee, the Selection Committee of South Shore Habitat for Humanity and the library volunteers.

Eileen (Meaney) Engdahl, 86, of Hingham, died Aug. 16, 2008, at Queen Anne Nursing Home in Hingham.

Joseph F. Herget III, 58, of Winterpark, Fla., died July 24, 2008, after a battle with cancer.

Marion R. (Brown) Rice, 93, of Hingham, formerly of Scituate and Hull, died Aug. 10, 2008.

   A native of New York City, she was a town reporter and feature writer for decades before she retired in 1989.

Richard A. Leahy, 83, formerly of Norwell and Hingham, died Aug. 14, 2008, in Charlotte, N.C., after a long illness.

Margaret M. “Peg” (Powers) Rossi, 93, of Hingham, formerly of Marshfield, died on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008 at The Allerton House in Hingham.

James K. Borland Jr., 78, of Cohasset, formerly of Hingham and Hull, died Aug. 8, 2008.

Carol R. (Downie) Regan, 80, of Hingham, a retired realtor and mother of five, died after a brief illness on Aug. 8, 2008.

James T. McFarland, 72, died unexpectedly Aug. 4, 2008, while vacationing in Indiana.

Sophie E. (MacQuarrie) Milley, 97, died July 31, 2008, at her daughter’s home in Titusville, Fla.

Ellen R. (Bailey) Fryling, 93, a lifelong resident of Scituate, died Aug. 1, 2008, at her home.

Clara Robinson Stetson Grant, 93, died July 18, 2008, at RiverMead in Peterborough, N.H.

Karl S. Ryder, 77, of Hingham, died July 30, 2008, at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth.
