Oil spill will keep roads closed through Memorial Day weekend
Harwich -Great Western Road and Lothrop Avenue between Old Main Street and Bells Neck Road will be closed at least through the Memorial Day weekend, Harwich Police Detective Lee Culver, the town’s emergency management director, told the Oracle Tuesday.

Selectmen accept golf committee resignations
Harwich -The chairman of the Harwich Golf Committee and two committee members resigned from the group, effective immediately. Selectmen on Monday accepted the resignations of golf chairman Tony Pagliaro and members George Boule and Paul Widegren.

Harwich -Many local schools are starting to make the “green scene” as it were, both in the classroom and out. Some of it is practical: to save money on electric bills, some educational and tied in with instruction and some is civic-mindedness. As part of our series, the Harwich Oracle took a quick survey of what some Cape Cod elementary schools are up to. The most common activity seems to be recycling.
