Tour Concord on two wheels

Thu Jun 14, 2007, 12:32 PM EDT

Concord -

Concord resident Sue Merlino recently launched Concord Bike Tours this spring. Merlino and her family live in Concord. She is a preschool teacher at the Milldam Nursery School in Concord, and she is also an avid cyclist. The bike tours will take riders on historical and scenic bike tours of Concord, including the Minute Man National Park. Merlino hopes to lessen the amount of bus traffic that goes through town and to help make it a greener place.

The idea for the company came to Merlino after taking a family vacation bike tour of Gettysburg National Park in Pennsylvania. When she returned home to Concord she decided to look into starting a bike touring company. She spent the winter putting together her business and has launched Concord Bike Tours. She offers a variety of tours for all levels and provides comfort bikes, helmets and lunch or snack. The opening of the café at the Buttrick Mansion, works great with the historical tour through the National Park. Each tour can accommodate two to 10 riders in a group, and is booking through the fall. For more information visit www.concordbiketours.com or contact Merlino at 978-697-1897.
