Tue Jul 03, 2007, 12:38 PM EDT

Clinton -

The annual Clinton fireworks, presented by the Clinton Firefighters Local 3189, will be held this Saturday, July 7, at the Clinton Veterans Athletic Complex. As in past years, the following traffic and parking rules will be in effect and strictly enforced:

· West Boylston Street (Route 110) will be restricted to southbound traffic from Clinton, 7-9 p.m. At 9 p.m., the road will be shut down entirely until approximately 11 p.m. Northbound traffic will be detoured over South Meadow Road to Route 62 in Lancaster.

· Parking will be available on a fist-come, first-served basis at the following parking lots: Clinton Middle School, Clinton High School, Veterans Complex, Head Start. When these lots are filled, officers will direct parking along West Boylston Street from South Meadow Road back toward Main Street. This traffic is expected to leave after the fireworks via South Meadow Road or Route 110 south.

· Vehicles will be allowed to park along the odd-numbered side of Main Street between Winthrop and Pleasant streets. All streets off Main Street connecting to Park Street are also open for parking on the right side only (facing uphill). This traffic will exit the area by continuing to Park Street, turning left on Franklin, right on School, bringing them to Union Street (routes 62 and 70).

· South Main Street, Terrance Avenue and Dike Drive will be restricted to resident parking only on their odd-numbered sides.

Handicapped parking spaces are available for any car displaying a handicap plate or placard at the school parking lots.

Any vehicle parked so as to make a road impassable for emergency vehicles, or in violation of parking rules (including rules about parking near fire hydrants, crosswalks, sidewalks, driveways, etc.) will be removed at the owner’s expense.
