Residents turn out for day on the farm

This Saturday, the Barrett-Byam Homestead hosted the third annual Farm Fair.

“We want to celebrate Chelmsford agricultural past,” said Bernie Ready, an organizer.

Chelmsford’s three big farming families, the Jones, the Lupiens and the Parlees were there. So was George Simonian, along with his jams made of raspberry, spiced pear, apricot and other fruits.

Musicians entertained while volunteers from the American Textile Museum showed how wool was spun in the old days.
