CARVER -Carver Youth Soccer held a summer camp last week facilitated by the Paul Turner Ultimate Soccer Academy. Twenty-five kids of all ages and skills from Carver, Plymouth, Kingston and even a visitor from Florida participated in the camp at Carver High School.
Coaches Luke Turkington and Andrey Asparouhov, both of the Paul Turner Ultimate Soccer Academy, taught the kids news drills and skills, which they can utilize during the fall season. Over the spring, Turkington and Asparouhov worked with the Carver travel teams on skills and technical development.
“It has been our pleasure as a youth group here in Carver to be working with such a dedicated organization such as the Paul Turner Ultimate Soccer Academy,” Sue Towne of Carver Youth Soccer.
As a result of the great turnout Carver Youth Soccer will be holding the same camp again next July.
Currently Carver Youth Soccer Carver Youth Soccer is accepting fall registrations for both the Tyke and Travel programs through the Post Office Box. Additional registrations will be held at the Carver Library at dates and times to be announced.
Early registration is highly recommended for all travel team groups of U10 and U12, both boys and girls. Carver Youth Soccer will accept registrations of those interested in playing U14, however this is only with enough players and coach volunteers for teams. Final decisions will not be made until some time in August. For those registering for the first time, children must be at least 4 1/2 years old to participate in the U6 Tyke group.
Registrations may be mailed to Carver Youth Soccer, P.O. Box 223, Carver, MA 02330. Forms can be downloaded from the Web site at carversoccer.com. Questions can be e-mailed to carveryouthsoccer@yahoo.com.
