Residents report gunshots in Cambridgeport, North Cambridge

Police responded to calls for gunshots in North Cambridge and Cambridgeport Monday night.
Police patrolling North Cambridge reported hearing gunshots near the intersection of Pemberton Street and Yerxa Road Monday at 11:59 p.m. When officers arrived at the scene, they didn’t find any evidence of a shooting, but a security guard later told them he saw two unknown men running into a tunnel from Pemberton Street shortly after he heard the shots fired.
About an hour later — at 12:55 a.m. — police received two separate calls for gunshot in Cambridgeport. One resident reported hearing a single gunshot in the area of Magazine Street and Dana Park. A second resident also reported hearing the gunfire, but police were unable to find any ballistic evidence of shots fired.
