Jazz quintet taps healing power of music

From word-of-mouth to creating a video to help argue their case, people on both sides of tax override debates in Ashland and Holliston are pushing to get voters to the polls in local elections Tuesday.

Two local state legislators will attend the Democratic National Convention as delegates, with state Sen. Karen Spilka, D-Ashland, representing Hillary Clinton and state Rep. David Linsky, D-Natick, backing Barack Obama.

The stage was set, the task quite apparent. The Bellingham softball team came to Ashland Middle School looking to end the host Clockers dominance in the Tri-Valley League. The undefeated Clockers had won the last two league titles, and were poised to nail down a third straight - holding a one-game lead over the Blackhawks as they prepared for a rare doubleheader. And were there Clocker cracks suddenly showing?
