Ashland voters reject override

After today's election, the Planning Board will continue hammering out its decision on plans to build 500 luxury apartments on Megunko Hill - but without the chairman who has led the review of the project.

Voters in Ashland rejected a Proposition 2 1/2 override today - by just 49 votes.

From word-of-mouth to creating a video to help argue their case, people on both sides of tax override debates in Ashland and Holliston are pushing to get voters to the polls in local elections Tuesday.

Two local state legislators will attend the Democratic National Convention as delegates, with state Sen. Karen Spilka, D-Ashland, representing Hillary Clinton and state Rep. David Linsky, D-Natick, backing Barack Obama.
