The funeral was held Aug. 8, from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home in Woburn, followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Agnes Church, Arlington. Burial was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, 70 Medford St., Arlington.

Visiting hours were held Aug. 14, at the DeVito-O’Donnell Funeral Home in Arlington, concluding with a closing prayer service.
A funeral service was held Aug. 15, from the Saville & Grannan Funeral Home in Arlington. Burial was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington.
The funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Thursday, August 21st at 9:15 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph's Church, 100 Washington Street, Woburn, at 10. Interment is private.
ARLINGTON — Nancy M. DeAngelis, 79, a former longtime resident of Woburn, died suddenly at her home on Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008.
She was born in East Boston, the daughter of the late Louis and Adeline (Russo) Mucci. She was raised and educated in Medford, where she graduated from Medford High School. She lived with her family in East Woburn for many years, and then retired to Port Charlotte, Fla., where she remained for nearly 20 years. Recently she had moved back to this area to live in Arlington.
WESTBOROUGH — Laura S. Miller, 81, died on Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008, at the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence in Worcester. She was the wife of J. William Miller.
She was born in Arlington, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Femia) Scali. She was educated in Arlington schools and was a graduate of the Fay Secretarial School in Boston.
Mrs. Miller was the former secretary for the law firm of Robert Gallagher, former secretary to Westborough Savings Bank President Walter Kinell and also worked at Data General as secretary for 16 years until her retirement.
She was a communicant of St. Luke the Evangelist Church serving as Eucharistic minister and was a member of the Women of St. Luke’s.
ARLINGTON — Edward D. “Ned” Breneman, 50, formerly of Peabody, Salem, and North Reading, died unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, August 14, 2008.
He was born in Lowell, on June 17,1958, the son of the late Edward D. and Pauline H. (Forslind) Breneman. He was raised in North Reading and was a graduate of North Reading High School, Class of 1976.
Ned was a transportation specialist for the Arlington Coal & Lumber Company for the past seven years.
He was a member of Union Local No. 25; Club NED; A.O.H. Club; Franco American Club and a booster member of the Arlington D.A.V. Club.
ARLINGTON — Louise G. (Cushing) Powers, 90, formerly of Cambridge, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008, at her daughter’s home in San Pedro, Calif. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph M. Powers.
She was born in Cambridge, and had been a longtime Arlington resident.
She is survived by a son, Michael Powers and his wife, Linda, of Townsend; a daughter, Mary Lastinger and her husband, Barry, of San Pedro, Calif.; a granddaughter; and a sister, Sister Mary Gregory O.S.B. of Clyde, Mo.
ARLINGTON — Mary F. Nolan, 65, beloved wife of Leo E. Nolan, died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, surrounded by her loving family following a lengthy battle with cancer.
She was born and educated in Jamaica Plain, graduating from St. Thomas High School, where she lettered in women’s basketball, and Regis College.
Mrs. Nolan taught first grade in Boston for 12 years. Following this, she was a probation officer at West Roxbury District Court. Most recently, she has been teaching special education at the Brackett School in Arlington for nearly two decades and was planning on returning to school this fall.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Aug. 9, at St. Camillus Church. Burial was in Cambridge Cemetery.
A funeral procession was held from the Doherty Funeral Home in Somerville on Monday, Aug. 11 followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Camillus Church in Arlington. Interment was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington.

He was born in St. Michael, Azores, the son of the late Manael and Belmira (Santos) Severino.
Mr. Severino served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a self-employed residential painter and wallpaper hanger.

She was born on March 18, 1924, the daughter of the late Eugene and Helen (Ryan) Doucette.
Mrs. Garrigan was retired from Harvard University where she worked for many years in purchasing for the Research and Biological Labs.

ARLINGTON — Donald S. Rossi, 84, formerly of Cambridge, died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008, at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading. He was the husband of Mary (Foster) Rossi.
He was born in Chelsea, the son of the late Rocco “Frank” and Mary (Sheppard) Rossi.
A World War II veteran, Mr. Rossi served in Battery A, 67th Armored Field Artillery Battalion, and was the recipient of a Purple Heart.
Mr. Rossi worked as a leather cutter in the shoe and binding industries.
Louis Chin died on Sunday, Aug. 3, 2008. He was the husband of Soo Chin for 72 years.
