Abington -Recently, property values have begun to decrease due to a sagging real estate market. A great portion of this decrease cannot be reflected in the Abington assessments until next year, Fiscal 2008. Our Fiscal 2007 values are based upon sales during calendar year 2005, when the market was still relatively good.
Taxpayers can view the Proposed Fiscal 2007 Assessed Values for all residential, commercial and industrial property in Abington by visiting the Assessing Department at Abington Town Hall, the Abington Public Library (Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; Wednesday, Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. or by accessing the town's website at www.abingtonmass.com.
These values will become final upon certification by the Mass. Dept. of Revenue after Dec. 5, 2006. The Assessor's Department is open Monday-Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at the Abington Town Office. You may phone the Assessing Office at 781-982-2107 to review, discuss, make valid changes or have someone visit your property to make any corrections. No changes may be made after Dec. 5, 2006.
