Column: AHS student reflects on science fair
ABINGTON, MASS. -When you think about a science fair, fun certainly doesn’t come to many minds. But my experience this year has been quite the opposite. By participating in the Science Fair on the school, regional and state level, I actually had a lot of fun!
Over the past school year, I have been working on the required science fair project for my Biology class at Abington High School.
It was a long process including a 10-page written report, lab notebook, and lab report and presentation board. I spent many long hours developing my project for presentation to my class.

letter to the editor: AHS student speaks on trash issue
ABINGTON, MASS. -Residents paying for trash sounds ridiculous. As a student I don’t think that towns should have to pay for trash. But what I think is even worse is the “pay-as-you-throw” program. I think having the “pay-as-you-throw” program would make the matter worse.

Sage advice from Rockland foster family
ABINGTON, MASS. -At first glance, the Sage residence in Rockland looks like many other family homes. There’s a jungle gym in the backyard, coloring books on the table and an elementary school test attached to the fridge with a smiley face created out of the 100% score.
But the photos next to the test are a little different. There are six children featured in the photos. Though all of the children are a part of the same family, three of the children come from different biological families, and two of the youngsters hail from different ethnic backgrounds. Also on the refrigerator are several additional photos of infants and toddlers who briefly became a part of the Sage household, but left once their circumstances had changed.
